Mister and I are on an adventure! We’re wandering around Florida this time, primary objective: checkout dive for my SCUBA certification. Mister is already certified, that’s how he caught my eye on tinder in 2020 with an under water photo of him in full dive gear. Now I’m getting myself certified too so we can explore the under water world together.
Over this weekend we will be diving in Vortex Springs near DeFuniak, FL with a dive master for me to demonstrate the under water SCUBA skills we learned during training to earn my SCUBA dive certification. My goal is to eventually get submersible camera gear so I can photograph and video record aquatic life. I’ve also brought my canon 5D with me in case I want to get some high resolution photos above the waters surface.
Last time Mister was home from work we went on a treasure hunt in Oklahoma for a few days. No treasure found. During that adventure we met a couple at Buffalo Springs (video above) who told us about blogging and traveling as their primary source of income. I’ve always enjoyed traveling, especially capturing places in photos or videos to freeze those visits in time. Being organized is not a constant for me, even writing here has ebbs and flows as any regular reader will know. I’m trying to write more in general and I am currently using a freewrite, distraction free writer for the text of this post (photo below).
Earning income for doing things you enjoy is the ultimate dream. I’ve also heard that monetizing your hobbies has a way of draining the joy from them too. I’ll keep doing the things I like to do and if it works out to be something more, cool, if not, that’s ok too. I believe it’s good to enjoy life as often as we can. I’m grateful to have my basic needs met and the ability to travel periodically.
I have developed the consistent routine to host weekly watch together events on my discord server and we are now integrating fitness days where we do aerobics, yoga and strength training using online fitness videos. This server is designed to be used and customized by Members. Optionally, verified age 21+ members can host events on server using Discord features (requires photo ID either on camera or in a private ticket channel). Being verified is optional, suspected minors (under 21) will be asked to age verify or be removed from the server. Every Member can create their own custom room on server.
